Me-TV is opening up the dungeon door and unleashing- Svengoolie!
Svengoolie has been the premiere horror show icon of Chicago, since multiple Emmy award winner Rich Koz became the hand-picked successor to the original Svengoolie back in the late 70s. Since then, generations of viewers have become fans of the monstrous mirth and movies that this video vampire dispenses every week over the airwaves!
Only Svengoolie brings you the classic Universal horror films, many of which have not been seen on broadcast television in years!
And- it’s Sven’s unique scary sense of humor that makes each program a frightfully funny experience!
While based in the Chicago area, Svengoolie has fans all over the country- proven by the fact that they voted him “Best Horror Host of 2009” in the national Rondo horror awards! Acknowledged by even the most famous horror hosts as a peer- Svengoolie has become the king of horror hilarity- and now, he’ll be coming out of his coffin every week on Me-TV!!!
Svengoolie- scaring up laughs as part of the memorable entertainment of Me-TV!!!
So Happy the site is lauched! I can at least get my Sven fix and stay in the loop even from Portland OR. Been a huge fan since the 70′s and not just a fan of Sven’s
Trying to figure out where to start to get you on air here in Portland!
good luck! Much <3
Mr. Koz provides a real service. In this day where real news is the real horror, he gives a short escape. I thank the “U” for their
intelligence of supporting him. Some of us have had overload of the standand network menu. May “Sven” get bitten…so he provides many years to come of good entertainment …we need you Rich! May those rubber chickens keep-a-fly’in!
I would also like to see you on the air in Portland, OR through Me-TV. Our original horror host was Trantuala Ghoul in ’58 (before my time) then Victor Ives of Sinister Cinema and Creature Features (no host) in the early to mid ’70s. Then nothing but Mystery Science Theater until recently.
With antenna TV, we now have Wolfman Mac’s Chiller Drive-in Theater, Off Beat Cinema, and Elvira’s Movie Macabre. Would be great to add Svengoolie.
Been a SVEN fan since Jerry G Bishop and right up through to the present. Rich is a great Host and an Icon in the Region. It’s shows and stations like this that give us all that comfy feeling of yesterday with Drive-In theaters watching Sci-fi and Monster flicks. THAT is a part of our Culture that needs to keep going. Svengoolie does it right, Kerwyn too, although Kerwyn doesn’t have the build of Elvira. :0) Who else in showbiz dodges Rubber Chickens at the end of each show? Congrats to SVEN and all he works with.
I’m glad at least I can stay in the “know” too…and also from Portland Oregon. I miss Sven. I have very fond memories of the Son of Svengoolie on Sat mornings back in Chicago. Hey Michelle…Maybe we should start a Rubber Chicken Recovery Network here in stumptown? I have already called Comcast and emailed them with my request to get MeTV. In the meantime, what are the chances of the Svengoolie shows being archived here for those of us who cant get MeTV?
Wow. Got my first taste of your show just tonight. After years/decades of drought, the great American hosted horror movie show seems to be undergoing a renaissance. Here in the San Francisco Bay area, our cable schedule includes not only Svengoolie on MeTV, but Wolfman Mac, Elvira, and the locally produced Creepy KOFY Movie Time. Somewhere the spirit of Bob “Creature Features” Wilkins is lighting up one of his trademark cigars and smiling . . .
Welcome back to the Bay Area, it’s been awhile! I’m with Robert on this one, after years without, now we’ve got 4, but by far Svengoolie is my choice! Not only a great classic lineup of films, instead of those tired public domain retreads, but a show that’s truly old school that me and my kids can watch together.
Ahhh! I love watching the scary movies every Saturday night with my younger brother, and my dad. It is so much fun, and it’s great quality time well spent.
Love watching your show every Saturday night back in 80′s when I was living Kalamazoo MI. I have fond memories of watching your show still embedded in my mind. Even though I’m from Malaysia your show are best memories when I growing in the US. The internet is a blessing so I catch some of your shows and relive those moments when I was in America.
We were about to change our tv provider until we saw you show watching all the classics together as a family is great family bonding.
(your)
I know where Rich Koz gets the stooges t-shirts that he wear something for the show. Many of them where brought back from Las Vegas by a staff member and some found in a resale shop. He try to find information where stooge-A-palooza Fans can get stooge t-shirts in future show.
Thank you Svengoolie!! You have no idea how much I love the universal classic scfi horror movies @ monsters! not to mention the horror movie host….you!! loved the classics and Host since I was a kid in the 60s…my cousins and friends also. but the word is out now via me tv…again we are enjoying our 2nd chilhood…keep em coming
Svengoolie is one of the coolest host horror movies for many years and 32 years ago from son of svengoolie because svengoolie like Elvira. Elvira meet’s Svengoolie 4 years ago in 2007 and Sven say it was so nice to meet her at well because he show some photos of Elvira and Sven at the Mail call during The Birds in HD from last year 2010 episode on svengoolie. I love when Sven put filled Svensurround in the would movie and my favorite filled svensurround movie is Zontar The Thing From Venus.
I met Svengoolie at White Castel and Party City. First I met Svengoolie at White Castel at June 19 2010. Second I met Svengoolie at Party Castel at 10-9-10. I also wear my sven t-shirt It came from berwyn <>.
I a Big stooge-A-palooza Fan for Rich Koz who is a Host for all the great three stooges comedy on three stooges stooge-A-palooza on ME-TOO at 7PM every Saturday Night.
I’m a fan, originally from Des Plaines, IL, but now live in the Foothills of North Carolina. Hubby and I have been watching Wolfman Mac and the gang on RetroTV, but now that ME.TV is around, I get to see Rich and Svengooli again! I introduced Hubby to the scary antics of Svengooli with tonight’s episode – The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Although, the digital signal went out 3/4 of the way through – as per usual with Charlotte based channels. ugh!
I grew up on horror flicks. I love them all – from the B horror flicks all the way up to the truly scary high budget ones. Vampires are my favorite, but also love the campy ones.
Between Wolfman Mac, Elivra (she still as beautiful as ever!) and Sven, I’m in horror heaven!
Thank you so much for all your hard work. =)
When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area my region had Bob Wilkin’s “Creature Features.” What a huge void when he left. But now – be still my beating heart. You were discovered while channel surfing (I do have cable or satelite). I am so smitten with you Svengoolie. Thank you ME TV for introducing us. Happy to be reunited with the horror greats. Now my husband and I have another date night. Keep on Truckin Svengoolie!
I used to get RetroTV on a local Atlanta HD sub-channel, and was terribly disappointed when they switched to MeTV. I thought I’d lose the Saturday wackiness of the schlock horror shows “Wolfman Mac’s Chiller Drive-in Theater” and “Off Beat Cinema”…. but I have been very happy watching the classic — and not so classic — horror films with Svengoolie. Brings back the fun memories of watching Al Lewis as Grandpa hosting the old TBS nugget “Super Scary Saturdays”.
I watched Svengoolie last night for the first time. It was great !!! It reminded me of old Chiller Theater in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday nights. Keep it up.
i grew up in detroit and watched sir graves ghastley every saturday afternoon…he was great…but you had to stay up till 1:00 a.m. to see shock theater for the old universal horror movies..glad to see them back on again! btw svengoolie…your as funny as the ghoul..scratching glass and turning blue…lol….hi ya gang hiya hiya hiya….keep up the good work..!!!
I have always loved the Sven-master. AND STOOGE-A-POOLZA! His side-kick Doug is great too! I love his singing! He cracks me up every time. Sven is like the Oprah of Horror television! And one more thing will we ever meet Mrs Sven?
LOVE LOVE the show and Svengoolie!!! Even Bucky Badger watches with me!
I was ahuge fan of Son of Sven when I lived in Glen Ellyn during the late 70′s. I couldn’t beleive it when I saw the ad for Svengoolie last week on Me TV. Guess what this 46 year old will be watching with his kids every Saturday night? Awesome! Johnstown, PA
When are we going to get Sven in Denver?
Soon I hope!
I hope Rich Koz will make new stooge-A-palooza episodes, show new mail and e-mail from his stooge-A-palooza fans and Rich will goes out the street asking questions about the 3 stooges. If you want to mail stooge-A-palooza the address is Three Stooges Stooge-A-palooza c/o wciu 26 N. Halsted Chicago IL 60661 or you stooge fans can e-mail him at Stoogekoz@wciu.com and he get those fan mail and e-mail every weeks at WCIU. Richard Almazan
Mr.Koz got those stooges t-shirts that called Shemp the forgotten stooge and Eben-eezer stooge t-shirts from Las Vegas by his staff member but Rich can’t tell you stooge fans where can you get those t-shirts. Rich says you stooge fans can buy stooges t-shirts on line like Ebay or Amazon.com in the internet.
I can’t believe Svengoolie is now in the Kansas City area! You’re on a good station that can be received for many miles. I’m spreading the word all over Norhtwest Missouri. Hope to get you some new fans!
We`ve just started getting MeTV in the Whittier, Ca. area about 2 weeks ago.
That`s what`s missing in TV,a horror movie host like Svengoolie.
In the early 70`s there was a host on local TV named Seymour.
And ofcourse that one Lady we all know in the early 80`s.
Great show!!! keep it up Sven.
Is there will be another Stooge-A-Palooza Marathon December 31 2011 Host by Rich Koz.
SVENGOOLIE IS GREAT—-
Takes me back when my sisters and I would stay up and watch the classic SHOCK THEATRE, late on saturday nights.
THANKS Me-TV
I am so Happy that Me-TV got Svengoolie on. I watched the original Sven in the 70′s and always loved son of svengoolie. I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and havent seen a sven show since 1994… I am so excited to be watching it tonight!
Glad to see Svengoolie here on the west coast on MeTV! Brings back great memories from watching while growing up in suburban Chicago.
Hey,
Lets get it on!!!!!!!!!!!
8:47PM
Abbott & Costello
This is soooo cool. I was a fan of the original Sven (Jerry G Bishop) as well as the old Creature Features on WGN. As a matter of fact I have the old Creature Features theme (Experiment in Terror) on my phone. It would be so cool to see some of the best of the original Sven. A bit of Chicago here in Atlanta.
Oh my! I am sorry I missed your post David. Oh what a good Idea, I should call Comcast too! Nice to know I’m not the only Sven fan in Portland! I am on facebook if you would like to add me, feel free just add a note of where we “met” cause I am kinda forgetful. Obviously seeing as I forgot to check this spot to see if anyone responded to my post
svengollie i love your show i am in my 70 i watch both svengollie a long time please run the movie wirrering hight it scarry and good
August 6 2011 I seen a Stooge-A-Palooza episode of Bernie Mac meet Rich Koz on Stooge-A-Palooza at WCIU.
I also seen a svengoolie episode celled The Beach Girls and the monster that has filled Svensurround and Sven put a classic three stooges short called Disorder in the Court and he put Svensurround in the short of the three stooges and I love it because It’s has filled Svensurround in the whole short that Sven doing for his fans and viewers but I seen it August 06 2011 on the U TOO at 3PM.
The MUMMY with BORIS KARLOFF is a CLASSIC.
No computer graphics.
GREAT MOVIE
Could you include more of those “Cheesey” monster flicks from the fifties. I mean, “Just How” many times can they destroy Tokyo etc.
There was a couple back then , Dinosaurus, and Reptilicus that were exceptionally “Cheesey”. Do you know where a person can get an
“Americanized” version of Godzilla with Raymond Burr. The only one I can find is W/O R. Burr ???.
Some others you might add to your library would be, The Unearthly,
(J. Carradine) Not of this Earth (B. Birch) and more Prehistoric Monster (Thanks to Atomic Fallout) Mothra, Giant Mantis, Beginning of the End (P. Graves), Them (J. Arness / J. Whitmore) , It came from the Sea (K. Tobey), and It Came To Conquer The Earth (Tim Holt / Hans Conried)
Refer to 08/14/2011 @ 12:54 P.M. just in case some of it didn’t make it in!!!
“THANKS”
To: Ms. Barbara Eyre
Your 06/11/2011 offering made reference to “Wolfman Mac” ????
Are you sure it wasn’t “Wolfman Jack” “R.I.P”.
Just Wondering?
Domonic F.
I could be in “Heaven” if I were able to share Elvira’s Casket with her.
Sven..do you have any clips of the old “Shock Theater” program from the 50′s. You look like you could be that old. If not maybe you have a clip of the Bullfights from Mexico with Gus Chan. Saturday nights at 8PM on WCIU (Chicago’s first UHF station) way back when…..A guy named Gus Chan doing Bullfights from Mexico…yeah right! Hola Que Tal and how does it go with you.
Thanks for a great show. I get to watch on Channel 2.2 Atlanta. I remember watching these classic movies in the 60′s and beyond on cable.
Welcome to Buffalo & Western NY Mr. Sven! Great shows for the end of a week!
Your a HOOT, keep up the good work. Reminds me of the Dr Egor show when I was a kid in the 50s in Iowa.
Re: Rick Brady —— Man I forgot about Creature Feature, those were good shows too.
Down here in Newberry and Gainesville Fl. we stay up and watch Me-TV.
Svengoolie for President
I’ve heard about both the original Svengoolie and Son of Svengoolie about twenty-five years ago. Here in Cleveland we have had until recently a thriving TV horror movie-host tradition, and I myself always wanted to be a movie-host myself — but the market just isn’t out there anymore (which is sad; people who’ve read my material and seen my act really like it — ah well …). Still, it is nice to know that ELVIRA, MISTRESS OF THE DARK isn’t the only host-programme out there nowadays. And I’ve always wanted to catch SVEN-TV. So I guess this is: “Welcome to Cleveland, Sven.” And yes, it is nice to be able to catch all those old Universal horrors and sci-flicks. No doubt you’ll be showing THE LAND UNKNOWN or CURSE OF THE UNDEAD really soon? Or THIS ISLAND EARTH or THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN? Or THE DEADLY MANTIS? O r maybe even MUNSTER, GO HOME? Universal sure did make a wad of them from the 1930s on, eh? And it’s great to have a show like yours to watch on Friday nights again. By the way, Sven — did anyone anyone ever compare your programme to THE UNCLE FLOYD SHOW? Well, I did. Welcome again to Cleveland.
when was this published
Jim- when was WHAT published?
I seen this on youtube called Svengoolie Zombie #5 and it’s was a lot of funny in the end of the song Sven put THE END from Three Stooges.
What your next new episodes Sven? What your next new episodes of 3 Stooges Stooge-A-Palooza Rich?
I hope Mr. Koz reads this! Hi I am Bruce in Columbia South Carolina and I am VERY happy to report that after so many many years I have gotten my (son of) Svengoolie fix. I will be 49 years old and I consider myself of the generation who first knew not only (son of) Svengoolie, Mr. Koz, but also the first Svengoolie Jerry Bishop on WFLD Channel 32. Back in the oh so long ago 1970′s we had Jerry Bishop/Svengoolie and he was great!
But then this totally original Rich Koz beat out Steve Dahl at the auditions and he BECAME …. Son of Svengoolie,
I especially enjoyed the parody songs,
RIDE CTA, you could get mugged if you RIDE CTA *sung to YMCA*
i loved it all, and tried to produce and star in a show of a similar nature in Columbia South Carolina back in 1984 and was shot down. Apparently there can be only ONE SVENGOOLIE
But Mr. Koz meant and still means a lot to me even these many years later. What an irritating life I live that the most enjoyable moments are a Chicagoland horror host in Illinois.
Anyway I just wanted to say thank you and not to get all sentimental but it’s nice to see a funny guy continue to do well.
And I especially love that you’re showing old UNIVERSAL classic horror movies now, after all the years of grade Z science fiction and horror movies, you get to ‘class the joint ‘ up.
I would love to write for you, (on spec) as I have always had so many ideas for the show.
Alas at this late stage of the game, I don’t think it will happen, but who knows.
Well as a responsible adult (I am a supervisor in the security field)
anyway… Thanks
And hope you read this
tylerdurden946@gmail.com
“Something keeps you working here/You must know someone inside.”
And thank merciful Cthulhu for that! I’ve been a fan since the show’s short-lived run on the equally short-lived Channel 48 in Philadelphia back in the early 1980s. I still have an alarming number of the old songs and routines memorized. Hey, it’s not like I had anything better to do with those brain cells!
It takes a special kind of genius to be this effortlessly silly, to be so clever at being so stupid, for so long. Thirty years on, I’m still in awe. Thank you, Sven!
Can we get Sven in Vegas?
It was only recently that we discovered Svengoolie in the Cleveland, Ohio area. Since our original local horror hosts “Big Chuck and Little John” have retired from their very long running and very popular TV show, it’s great to have a really funny show take their place! Hope you keep up the great work (just love your funny quips) and irreverant comedy. By the way, it’s also nice that your show comes on in our area at 10:00 p.m. instead of after the late news at 11:35 p.m. so we can stay awake long enough to see the whole show. Thanks ever so much.
I have been watching your show for over twenty years now and continue to every week. The very first day I met my wife, we were sitting on the front porch of a friends house and she asked where I lived. When I replied Berwyn, we both in sync said just as in the show, “Ber-wyn”. We’ll never forget that moment.
I am writing to you because in the past few months, my 2 year old daughter, Ashley Marie, has been watching the show with us and she LOVES it. From the moment the beginning of the show starts, she knows. She will wait for you to come out of the casket and yell while laughing hysterically, “Gooey” tricked me Daddy”. She looks forward to watching your show every Saturday and now on Saturday afternoons as well. We bought her a farret, she named him Gooey, we make sock puppets, who does she want one of? Gooey.
Thank you for providing entertainment all these years!
Ira, Nicole, Ashley Marie (2) and Noah Jax(1)
To be blunt about it….Svengoolie is not funny and is in a word stupid
To be blunt about it- Brett can say whatever he wants- and nobody cares.
SVEN is the Greatest! Years from now I will still be watching him. May he “Live Long and Prosper”
TINASLASH
Not since “Zacherley at Large” in the early 60′s have I seen so much fun on your show.
I just saw this for tge first time Saturday night with I Saw What You Did. Loved it! Reminded me of when I was a kid and would get in trouble for sneaking and staying up late to watch scary movies
After so many years of drought, I look forward to Sven, the great old movies, his corny jokes, fun skits, clever musical number and rubber chickens galore. Thank you for making my Saturday night such a
source of fun, laughter and nostalgia.
Hey Sven, can you dig up an old movie called The Old Dark House
I am 62, & grew up close enough to Chicago, to have been able to watch the local TV shows back in the 50′s. Svengoolie reminds me of the days when I would watch “Bozo the Clown” or “Elmer the Elephant” with John Conrad etc.. Used to be much local talent in Chi Town back then. Lots of local kids shows like ” Ding Dong School’ Well, Svengoolie is the the resident “Ding Dong” of Chicago TV now. He is both funny & informative. The movies are great fun too. Simply put: Rich Koz is unique! Thanks
THIS is the horror movie experience of my childhood: the Saturday late-night horror show hosted by a local TV celeb. I remember making my younger brother stay up until four one Sunday morning to hear my letter read on the air because the host ALWAYS read every letter received the following week, no matter how many hours it took. A part of my young self died when that show was finally cancelled (in the mid-seventies I think). I am so glad to have discovered the ME Network and Svengoolie … anticipating the return of that bleary Sunday morning stare from my bathroom mirror again. PSYCHED!!!
My 7 year old daughter loves Svengoolie, and the old horror shows he plays. It is so nice to have something we can watch together and both enjoy. She is hoping Svengoolie will someday make it to Tucson AZ so she can meet him. We are so thankful to Me TV for having him on!
I love Svengoolie! The movie classics and the humor that are played every Saturday night are one of the highlights of my weekend. Thanks for the many years of awesome entertainment.
A BIG thank you to Me-TV!
We all gather every Saturday night to watch Svengoolie do his thing!
The guy is super cool and the movies ARE worth watching.
Some of these horror shows play the most foolish movies, we can’t watch and turn the channel.
But, Svenzie Boy shoots out the classics.
Congratulation Me-TV!
We will support yout sponsors!
I found this show by accident and now look for it every Saturday night! I remember Zackerly from my childhood, and Svengoolie is the next best thing,I love it
been watching almost a year now & look forward to sven every weekend. i’ve been a fan of horror hosts since i was very young [7] now i’m 61 & its so great to see the movies that i saw back then & havent seen til now, still love those movies.everything about the show is fun,the humor the songs, the comments, its all good & refreshing, instead of watching the drama & reality crap.may the rubber chickens fly forever.keep up the great work svenny boy.
Svengoolie is the BEST.
I grew up watching SON OF Svengoolie in the early 80′s.
Now I get to enjoy him again on ME TV
It’s as good as I remember.
Thank you so much for all the great fun and memories you’ve provided this Chicago boy : )
Wahhhhhh! My local cable provider just decided not to carry ME TV any longer and I am so depressed. I am glad I have the website to come to at least, but where or where will I get my Svengoolie fix every Saturday night from now on? Where is an old horror flick addict such as myself to turn? Oh the sacrilege!
Well just found the Channel..Welcome always good to see some “darker” stuff on TV…. Love it.
Oh my gosh! I left Chicago 15 years ago, and last night I found out that my favorite horror fella is on a Utah station I just happened to check out by accident! What a fun surprise! Sven hasn’t changed a bit and I was tickled to know that he still does the same stuff he did when I was growing up. I am lovin’ Sven!
I remember this show when I was a child and every Saturday I watched and enjoyed. I was so happy to see its return and now my Boys share my fond memories of this great show .Thank you Mr Svengoolie for alot of great childhood memories for myself and now my kids as well .
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was a loyal viewer of our local horror movie host Ghoulardi. Thank you for having his photo on the weekly introduction of Svengoolie. I now reside in Orlando, Florida and watch every Saturday night on Me Tv. It is a good feeling that younger viewers can experience the enjoyment of classic horror movies and an entertaining host.
I moved to Mass. 20 yrs ago from Gary. I talk about Svengoolie all the time to friends, family, and my karate students here. Last Saturday I saw a commercial for the show and couldn’t believe that it was still on and that I could watch one of my favorites. Svengoolie rules.
Oh man, I can view Svengoolie again after all these years without! I used to watch the original Svengoolie as a kid in the 70′s when we lived just south of Chicago, but NOW his legacy is available even here in Seattle, WA! TYTY! This is such a blast from the past, especially with the rubber chicken, the song ‘Thank You for all the Cards and Letters,’ and the ghawd-awful jokes! I dig me da retro TV!
I LOVE Svengoolie!!! I grew up on the East Coast with Commander USA and have been missing this type of show for a long time now. Thanks to MeTV, I now get to enjoy my favorite el cheapo movies along with funny skits and comments from Svengoolie! AWESOME!!!!
Never heard of this guy until he came on in Las Vegas and we finally got MeTv. I love it! this brings me back to my childhood watching some of these movies and having a horror host for late-night movies. I can only hope he stays on forever or at least as long as I am here.
My graduate student daughter acquainted me with your show Saturday night, while I was visiting her at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. We watched Dr. Cyclops. You are awesome! I wish you were on television here in St. Paul-Minneapolis. You rock, Svengoolie!
Svengoolie is desperately needed in the Champaign/Urbana (IL) area. Many college students from the Chicago area are stranded without the hope of Sven’s weekly hilarity. Also, the younger generations need to be brought up the know and reveer the great horror classics. It seems wrong that this area, just hours from Chicagoland, is without such premium programming as Svengoolie.
I like Sven….hate living!
Welcome to New England, Sven! We’re having a ball watching those classic MeTV shows and “Svengoolie” every Saturday night!! I truly enjoying those great Universal horror flicks! Great show, Sven! All the best!
Welcome to Salt Lake City, Sven!
Comcast just started bringing MeTV programing & Svengoolie to us here in Utah, so we’re new to your show and so far… Great!
Sven, you remind me of one of my all-time favorite “movie” shows- Mystery Science Theater 3000. I still miss it to this day.
We’re all looking forward to Saturday nights now, Great Show & Good Luck!!
Dear Sven,
I thoroughly enjoyed your 2 favorites programs. These were mostly my favs too. I hadn’t seen them in a while and the impact they had was tremendous. They were way ahead of their time and someone was a genius in there. My fav Curly line is “It’s the counting that got me worried”. I’ve always though Larry was great. He was like George Harrison, the forgotten Beatle. But he really added and contributed greatly to their success. His takes and reactions to things are a riot. You can watch just him and realize just how funny he was. He said a line on the short where they were in that golf course and Curly was washing his clothes. Larry said something like “wishy shirty, wash your skirtie”, or something like that. It was just a funny line. But what does that mean and where did that come from?? In that same short it showed that steep street where the beer barrels got loose and rolled down to the intersection where the cop was. I’d love to see how these old streets that were shown in these look now. Also the boxing short where Larry is running down the street. Has anyone tried to match these up?
And finally, thanks to you, Rich, for keeping the Stooges alive and well in Chicago, and the rest of the country.
Stoogedly Yours,
Tom Otworth
I love these old horror movies. They are entertaining and fun to watch. I think you people are funny, you have made me laugh which is no easy feet. (get it) no easy feat. Thanks for the great show.
Welcome to Hawaii Sven.Or as we say here.Aloha Sven!
I’m so glad i found MeTV with Svengoolie. I still watch Wolfman Mac on RetroTV but yours remind of a show that used to be on here in Pittsburgh years ago, Chiller Theater. I love the old horror movies please keep them coming.
I love watching the horror movies on your show. Please don’t show any more comedies like the Bob Hope movie you showed tonight. I watched Ghoulardi in Cleveland back in the 60′s and he never would have shown a movie like this. Stick to the horror/science fiction movies.
What FUN! I go back to the days of Screaming Yellow Theater with Jerry G and company. I saw that actual episode where Bette Midler, Peg Bundy, *ha and the others sang to the original Sven. We were at our Grandfathers house staying overnight watching the Monster shows that night. Heck, I go back to Chuck Acri Creature Features from WQAD 8 and “lights Ouuuuut” for that matter. I’ll never forget that guys face coming at ya from the darkness at the beginning of that show. I’m just glad WCIU/METV keeps the Monster flicks coming. It’s a tradition that should never stop, like the Three stooges or Drive – in Theaters. It’s part of Americana. I like the Classic Monsters more than the Abbott and Costello or Bob Hope meets…such and such too. My favorites are the 50′s B&W’s. Any UFO or Sea monster or show like the Blob is the best. Vincent Price? The Tingler!? get my popcorn and TV clicker…..it’s Gold Jerry! Gold! Keep up the fun Sven. Thanks for everything. :0)
he is funny
Glad to see that Sven is now national in many markets. I go all the way back to the original Jerry G. Bishop / Sven and even ate at Jerry G.’s in San Diego when I lived in So Cal. !!
I’m with you all the way on your humor though, too, Sven. Even though I have many of the movies shown on the show the humor interject is
irreplaceable. I sent a personal note of thanks to RIch / Sven at Weigal Prod. 26 S. Halsted St. Chicago 60661.I hope it gets to his desk.
I remember back in the 60′s here in Rochester,NY we had Monster Movie Mantinee w/ Dr. Witty and Epall. I am glad someone is continuing the tradition of having a host for our scary old flicks. You do great job Sven, the humor adds an interesting element. It’s hilarious. Keep it up!!
You really make it appear really easy with your presentation but I to find this topic to be actually something that I believe I might by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely huge for me. I’m looking forward on your subsequent put up, I?ll try to get the dangle of it!
hello!,I love your writing so a lot! proportion we communicate extra about your article on AOL? I require a specialist in this house to unravel my problem. May be that’s you! Looking forward to see you.
I was browsing through the tv listings and saw ‘Svengoolie’ “What’s that?” Tuned in and now a fan of the show up here in New Hampshire.
wow you and your show brought back memories of watching Big Chuck and little John in Akron Cleveland Ohio and Goulirie(sp) those were great time and thanks for a great show
Milwaukee is a “far, far, better place”, now that we have Sven !!!
Wow, amazing blog format! How long have you been running a blog for? you make blogging look easy. The overall look of your site is fantastic, let alone the content material!

Thank you for the Saturday evening fun – I’m trying to explain to my kid about “Sir Graves Ghastly” when I was young in Detroit, and this is a great introduction for him, and nostalgia for me! Thank you – CC (in WA now)
Go Sven Go ! lol you are reminder, of my younger days watching Sammy Terry out out Indianapolis, In. and the Cool Ghoul out of Dayton, Oh , Both Classics.
Like Bob Shreve out of Cincinatti Ohio ,you need a Giant spider on a string banging you on the head while you try to conduct your show. Great job Buddy . I’ll be back every week !!!!!!!!

Indianapolis is now a better place with Sven.
I saw the show you did with “Abbot and Costello on Mars”. It has been a long time since I have seen a late night movie host show.
Your show to me is a throwback to 1960s television in Cleveland, Ohio, where I grew up watching Ghoulardi and then Big Chuck & Hoolihan.
Your cheesy schtick comedy is entertaining. I will keep watching
I can’t express how happy I am that Svengoolie is still on the air in Chicago. I live in Japan, but grew up for 17 years watching Mr. Koz both as Son of Svengoolie and as the host of the cartoon programming on the Koz Zone on WFLD. I would kill to get hands on some of those old videos. I still hear the inimitable sounds of “Berwyn” in my head. Thanks a lot, sir, and I hope you stay around until you find a suitable successor.
I just want to say you and your show rock!
I met you a few years back at FBW. I was dressed as Baby Firefly from House of 1000 Corpses for the costume contest you hosted. It was an honor to share the stage with you!
LDG Nicole
It is about time. A channel with Svengooli started here this last week and I couldn’t be happier! I grew up on Ghoulardi and Sir Graves Ghastly and it is about time someone stepped up to the plate and put on their shoes!!!!
really like your website and watch you every week on me tv
i love your off beat humor jokes and those horror movies keep the flying chickens flying and hope to win one of those.
so excited to see svengoolie again! i currently live in denver and grew up in the chicagoland area 70′s and 80′s watching svengoolie with my dad on saturdays. great memories and nice to see him on tv still, can’t believe it’s been 30 ish yrs! keep up the quality tv! berrr–wyn??
Grew up South of Chicago, always watched Svengoolie and Son of Svengoolie. Had no idea I would see it here in Georgia. Brings back alot of memories. Keep the show alive so others can have the same memories.
He’s soooooo stupid he’s actually GREAT! (and there’s a compliment in there somewhere!) I also love the bits of history that he tells about actors that appear in the movies! Keep up the great work “Sven” we all love you!!
I never miss a single show. I am at age twelve and still love your shows. I sind up to get a ruber chicken. I would love to get one some time this year. I was woundering if some time this year if you could play the original Three stooges The Movie for some classic commody. Sincerly Paul M.
Just found your program surfing stations on 2/25/12, what a scream! The show reminded me watching the scare flicks Saturday night growing up that were hosted by Vampira then later Elvira. I’m looking forward to watching more of the classic “horror” flicks now that I know about MeTV. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!
Now that San Francisco has ME-TV we also get THE GREAT SVENGOOLIE who I have watched every Saturday night since ME-TV came to the Bay Area.
I LOVE YOU SVENGOOLIE!!!!!
I love Svengooli! I look forward to every Saturday night at 10:00 pm in Rochester NY to get that warm comfy feeling of when I was a kid watching horror/Sci Fi flicks with my dad on Saturday nights!. The host is great…so cool…thank and and please don’t stop…
keep up the good work ! watch the show every chance i get ! From title town USA Valdosta GA !!!
I was channel surfing a couple of weeks ago, and happened upon Sven by accident. I used to watch the Son of Svengoolie all the time on WFLD while stationed at Ft. Sheridan many years ago, and I thought, “nah, it’s not the same guy”. The more I watched, the more I was convinced it was. Welcome to Jacksonville, Fl. Sven…keep flinging those rubber chickens at Berwyn!
Sven takes me back to the days when I would watch “Theater of the Macabre,” hosted by Macabra on WOWT in Omaha. Now I can enjoy the old classics with my own kids! Thanks for the humor, film insights and song parodies. It’s a hoot! (Glad to have you in Cornhusker Country.)
Oh, how I am sooooo thankful that my husband, Ken, found your program on Me-TV. My husband grew up watching Sivad from Fantastic Features on WHBQ-13 airing from Memphis, TN. He has a great LOVE for the Universal Horror movies and so do I thanks to Y-O-U!!! Every Saturday afternoon in the 1970′s, I would watch Creature Features and then you, (Son of) Svengoolie, afterwards on WFLD-32. I looked forward to the banter and jokes on the program. You had me spellbound. It wasn’t Saturday without watching the program. They just don’t make horror movies like the true classics. Over the years, I have shared with my husband memories from the program wishing he could have the same experience that I was fortunate enough to know. A few months ago, he came across Me-TV and noticed a program called “Svengoolie” on Saturday nights showing Universal horror movies. I hoped against all hope that it was YOU. Yes, yes, yes!!! Every Saturday night now, we enjoy watching your program and wear our official chicken thrower, glow-in-the-dark Svengoolie shirts in pride! He LOVES your sense of humor and is looking forward to the Green Hornet this Saturday night with popcorn in hand. One more thing…”Berwyn!!!”
All the folks at KTKK AM630 love watching “SVEN” on Saturday Night’s on MeTV out of St. George. It brings back the memories of growing up in Chicago. Used to watch your show, and Thing Theatre no WSNS channel 44 – All the best “SVEN” Pat
i been a fan of the svengolie for years i am in my 70 but i am tired of the same old showes the mummy woff man the stoggies please look up some more scarry shows.
It is so good to see another classic horror / sci fi show on the air each week. Unfortunately, they are a dying breed. Thank you Richie for bringing these movies to all of us true fans. May you run forever!
Thank all things creepy and evil that Svengoolie has taken over the airwaves in Olympia Washington. My whole life is a dogear’d Famous Monsters of Filmland with a rich and heavy CRAMPS sause. Sven fits right in. Thanks so much for making my staying home on saturday nights not seem so lame. Hail Sven!!!
Love watching Svengoolie on MeTV. He’s the missing link to my childhood favorite Graves Ghastley in the Washington, D.C. Market. Thanks for the background information on the movies, too!
my favorite show i watch it every weekend!!!!i love how Svengoolie
when the advertisment is coming he puts his head on their bodies.HA HA!!!!!
It is great that there is a show like this on TV. The Mole people would have been difficult to get through, but with a little help from Sven, I enjoyed it immensely. Thanks Svengoolie!!
I enjoy watching the old classic monster that no one playes anymore
I enjoy watching the old classic monster movies the no one plays anymore.
I love to curl up on the couch and watch and I refuse to go to bed when it’s on.I am A Super duper duper fan.I have a series of relatives that watch it!One of them was 80 yrs. old!I love to watch it with my parents and brother and sisters.I am 9,but I still love classics!I am also a member of Goosebumps,The Phantom of the opera,Svengoolie, and many other creepy clubs.I love dark and hate bright .I like creepy and I hate sweet.I may be weird to others, but compared to Svengoolie,I’m a unicorn against a fire-breathing dragon!I love his creepy ideas and creative ideas.God gave him as a gift to creep-show lovers and lovers of classics.I am sad about his father, but I think they were equal in their job.Long live Svengoolie!
I’m here now.
Be afraid.
Be VERY afraid.
Started watching Screaming Yellow Theater when it debuted… when the original Svengoolie (Jerry G. Bishop) was just a voice at commercial breaks. Then came the still-photos of him in costume/make-up to accompany the voice-overs. Once he went live… with Zelda… all Hades broke loose.
When he left the air, there was a brief vacancy host from Ohio called The Ghoul… which, I understand, was a prodigy of Ghoulardi.
But in 1979, all Hades was unleashed again when Rich Koz took the reins as Son of Svengoolie.
I loved the skits with Tombstone… especially BatSven… and Vampire Carpets.
I was even watching the Koz Zone when Sven returned as a guest co-host (can you say split-green screen?).
Now, at 48 years old, I’m still a REALLY over-sized kid… glued to the tube every Saturday… trying not to groan at those REALLY bad song parodies!!!
Sven (Rich), I can’t begin to thank you enough for the years of laughter & escape (from the lunacy of real-life).
Keep going as long as you can. We NEED you. (and a litle Xanax, too)
I got a kick when I happened to come across Svengoolie introducing late night horror on Me Tv a few nights ago!
If I had known about his show, I would have tuned in sooner!
Great to see Svengoolie on MeTV. He brings back memories of when I used to watch late night horror hosts. Keep up the great work and I will be tuning in every Saturday night at 10:00 p.m.
SVENGOOLIE: Live out in the sticks of S.Oregon without any TV connections except for poor antenna reception. Hate the Fox TV netwk but recently they have added on MeTV which brings back many memories. I had never heard of Svengoolie before but thanks for the weird & unusual. Keep throwing those rubber pollos!
Do you no Svengoolie addese.
Do you no Svengoolie address.
I’m very excited about Svengoolie airing in San Antonio, as I’m a huge fan of classic and craptastic horror movies. Can’t wait for Dracula on Saturday!
Svengoolie is alive and well in Wisconsin! keep up the good work, love watching the old classics. Our kids are all in college now and have never had the opportunity to see these great films we grew up with. Keeper-roll-in!
The line “the ape slays a geek” was the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Can you put these songs on youtube?
I grew up watching “Son of Svengoolie” on channel 32, Chicago….and I just found you on MeTV. I am absolutely tickled to know this is still out there, and I can now watch it with my son! Keep up the great work! Love it!
Just stumbled across ME-TV . Fantastic! In the Tampa/St. Pete area we had Dr. Paul Bearer every Saturday night @ 9:00 P.M. That show has been off the air for quit a number of years, sad to say. So glad to find you, Sven. The old horror flix are the best.To go even further back in time, we had Shock Theater on Friday nights @ 11:30 P.M. in the late 60′s/early70′. Great fun. Thrilled to find someone with my taste in movies and twisted sense of humor. I’m DIEING to see what’s instore. Will watch you forever, or longer, maybe
I have been watching Svengoolie since the 70′s and now that I run a foundation in Fox Lake, IL for kids with debilitating/life threatening illnesses and our wounded US Service Members and their families I have gotten these kids and adults involved in watching every Saturday night. We even watch on Saturday mornings the esipode from last week. Today in the morning it was Dracula’s Daughter.
I think I am the number one fan. Other shows have gone like Creature Features when I was a kid but this has been in tradition in my family and now I am proud to pass it on to other families.
The kids love it and it because a snack party for them as well. The adults really get into as well. Something to make them take their mind off of what they are facing if only for 2 hours. These families come to our foundation from across the USA.
Thank you for keeping a great tradition alive. Please never stop this great tradition all year round!!!
Discovered METV about a month ago, but tonight is my first exprience with the great Svengoolie with “This Island Earth”, of course being a fan of “Mystery Science Theater 3000″, the temptation was there to compare the two treatments of the movie, but I also guess it would be unfair to do so. Of course, I will tune in evry week now to view the cheesy movie of the week. It’s just a shame METV can’t get the license to air the old episodes of MST3K in conjunction wit Svenghoolie.
I grew up with “Jeepers Creepers” in Southern CA, Sammy Terry and later Spookaroonies with Doktor Tom B. Stone in Indiana. Presently…Svengoolie in Illinois.
Thanks SVENGOOLIE for all of the fun and GREAT memories!!
I grew up (better said, attempts were made to raise me) in the Chicago area in the late 60′s and early 70′s (I graduated from Lisle Senior High School in ’73) and thoroughly enjoyed Screaming Yellow Theater with Jerry G. Bishop as Svengoolie. I appreciated and enjoyed Rich Koz’ contributions to the show then and was very happy to see Rich continue the legacy after Mr. Bishop left. Thank you, Rich!
Recently ME TV became available in the Dallas area and I can renew my memories of past shows while enjoying the current show! I look forward to this weekend and “The Creature from the Black Lagoon”.
We’ll thanks to “ME TV” which was just added to my local cable system in NE Philly(Phila. Pa.) via WFMZ TV, a thought that has been on my mind for over 30 years has finally been answered. Sat. night I stumbled across your program at 10PM. 30 years ago at this time I first saw you on the old CH48 WKBS after they aired that 3d horror film that the 3D effects didn’t work after all the hype for it and the glasses you had to buy at Burger King I believe. I also remember seeing the promo the station showed of your program coming to it following the film that evening and your crazy stuff that also caused complaints among parents. For years I wonder who was that horror film host was, would be on every Sat. afternoon, til CH48 went dark in Aug. of 1983. Looks as if the mystery has been finally solved.

Came across your show this passed Sat. evening on WFMZ-ME TV and a question that was on my mind for many years. 30 years ago at this time, I recall first seeing “Son Of Svengoolie” over CH48 WKBS here in Philly following a viewing of an old Blk & Wht. 3D film that you had to buy glasses for at Burger King I believe. Can’t remember the film but did remember the promo CH48 aired of “Son Of Svengoolie” of different skits and clips. For the next year and a half on Sat.s I heard of the differe nt crazy stuff that ya’s did but others. Then in Aug. of 83, WKBS went dark and often thought who was that crazy horror film host. The 30 year question has finally been answered.
Btw, I forgot to add this to my comment. Apparently the 3D effects didn’t work of the film on that Spring evening and it was big news here the next morning aswell as complaints of parents who had concerns about the stuff shown of “The Son Of Svengoolie”.
I grew up with John Zacherle (WCAU-TV) Philadelphia in the 50′s. You carry on the tradition. The only a good chicken is a flyning chicken.
Anybody remember the original Soupy Sales show (WLS-TV) Chicago? How about “Black Tooth” that appeared at the door, much like Svengoolie now imitates. Or was that “White Fang?”
I’VE BEEN WATCHING SVENGOOLIE EVER SINCE HE CAME ON TV.I’M AN AVID FAN.THIS IS AN AWESOME SHOW.MAXX LEATHAL
METV is now in my city and I have discovered the goofy (yet tastefully done) antics of Svengoolie as he introduces all those fabulous horror movies from back in the day! Now,Saturday nights have become Svengoolie nights with madness, mayhem, and enough laughs to tickle your funny bone. Rock on Svengoolie!
every day is so bad but on saterday is the bomb
Saturday nights have been dedicated “Svengoolie Night”….Pizza or Chinese is delivered or home snacks prepared [each week a different menu] and the family settles in to watch the old greats from universal that we watched as kids. Sven enhances the treat with comic vignets and makes for a real fun night!!! Love It!!! It’s truly a great FUN night! Keep up the good work Rich!! It’s great, been waiting for the genra like this to re-emerge for years! Thanks for carrying it on!
ABSOLUTLY HOOKED!!
THANK YOU for ressurecting Classic Horror! Se People still love good innocent cinema including the B Grade mayhem! Much horrific success to YOU
We missed Svengoolie since leaving the Chicago area in the late 1990s. So glad that MeTV is carrying the program. No more dull Saturday nights!
Me and my dad watch Svengoolie every Saturday night. My dad said it reminds him of a guy called Bubba the redneck vampire! We love uncle Sven!
We were so excited to find your show back in Jan. It has become our mandatory family night movie! We buy popcorn from our local theatre, raisinettes from the grocery store and gather around the tv in the dark. I grew up watching you in Chicago and I am so excited to share this time with my husband and four children! Good, clean, family fun! Thanks!!!
great show keep it coming
“The Crawling Eye’ & “Fiend Without A Face” are right up your alley, Sven. You are the BEST! Thanx.
i have bright house cable in brooksville florida and they wont even respond to my request to get the u here to see svengoolie here. im from chicago and i need him on sat. might. we have nothing here please help me
Thank you for all of your work on this web page. My mum takes pleasure in doing internet research and it is obvious why. I hear all regarding the powerful medium you make reliable tactics through your web blog and as well as increase participation from others on this area so my daughter is really starting to learn a great deal. Enjoy the rest of the new year. You are always conducting a really great job.
Yes! Fianlly I found MeTv here in Boise ID. And one Sat Night I found Svengoolie! And the movies that I like! No gore, no voilance just a classic good time.
Long live Sven!
Hello
I have been watching Svengoolie for 6 months now. Your show makes my Saturday night which gives you an idea how my social life is doing these days.
I like the Music bits, satire, and the movie information bits that give the actors and actress history and names. I also like how they produced the super special effects that cannot be reproduced today.
I grew, up sort of, in Nebraska in the 60s, and watched the Saturday evening horror movies. What was really cool is that in the summertime we would get a good thunder and lightning storms on Saturday night.
Thanks again,
I really enjoy watching the Sven Goolie show every Sat. night. Glad that MeTv put it on the air. Bet no body remembers the Bowman Body who was back in the 70′s. Hope it stays on TV many years to come.
Thanks for the movies,
Chris
Thanks ME TV for putting on Svengoolie! I love watching these classic horror films. Brings back memories of watching these films as a kid. Keep up the good work!
Just found MeTV and Sven 2 weeks ago…Yahoo! Love the show. Keep em coming Sven.
Just discovered this recently on MeTV. Enjoying the movies, and even more, the info on the actors and the comedy bits that Sven does during the movies. It’s a great show.
BTW, yell at your webmaster: the site doesn’t render well in Google Chrome. Had to use IE.
My sons name is Spencer and have always called him Sven, so I have a special reason for watching Svengoolie. We never miss a weekend without MeTv. Keep going strong, we love it.
I saw last night after watching a Sherlock Holmes episode on DVD that 2.2 This TV in Portland, OR is now Me-TV.
WELCOME Svengoolie. I see that Saturday’s movie is “The Mummy’s Ghost”. I will be watching you. Please play “The Deadly Mantis”, “Horror of Dracula”, “The Mole People” and “The Amazing Colossal Man” in your line up again soon. Haven’t seen these movies since I was a teenager.
Gerald Peterson
Just found you on MeTV….while surfing on my Antenna instead of U-verse…..HeHeHe….remarkable resemblance to Dennis Franz…mannerisms as well……Keep up the Good Work….reminiscent of Bestoink Dooly….in Atlanta, Georgia B&W TV days…….
SB
Rich, you have that genujine Zacharley spirit (or ghoul)!
Hey there Sven,
Great show. Glad to see that movies such as your show provides if back on the air. Used to a big fan of series such as Mystery Science Theater (Joel Hodgkins), Creature Features with Bob Wilkens, Up all Night ( various hosts), and Wolf Man Macs Horror Drive Inn.
Look forward to the next show.
Very pleased to see a Horror Host like Sven to host classic horror films on saturday night brings back the memory when I was kid staying up all night watching my favourite horror films ..
Cheers Mickey
Im glad Minnesota gave all of us here ME T.V., since the only shows we have here are those dumb reality shows. Day after day, all night long. Boring. Then along came ME T.V., and with it The Svengoolie Show. Now this is better then any dumb old reality show. Its the way T.V. is meant to be watched and enjoyed. Im available if your hiring.
please drop (or retape) the beginning of the show Its not as funny, kind of annoying really
The information you requested about a movie from the 70′s that had people with white hair and black robes was called “the Omega man” Charlton Heston
Love this. Also thank you for not being crude and nasty like everything else on T.V. now. Miss the good old days.
The answer to your question on Svengooli, July 7th is The Omega Man with Charlton Heston.
That answer came from Roy Olson.
Really like and enjoy your website and absolutely love watching the classic horror movies that I grew up on, similar to Bob Wilkins’ Creature Features and Chiller Diller which I greatly miss watching. Thank you!
We recently began getting MeTV in mid-Missouri and my beau and I got hooked on Svengoolie quickly. Saturday evenings got a heck of a lot better in Fayette, Missouri! And when he showed “The Mole People,” (a favorite of my family’s), I was officially a die-hard fan. Love you and the show.
I grew up in Glen Ellyn watching Screaming Yellow Theater in the early 70′s. I think I was probably the only 11 year old girl in town who had the hots for (Jerry G. Bishop) Svengoolie! Some of the best and creepiest, freakiest, scariest films I’ve seen to this day (and not seen since) were shown on SYT.
About a month ago, I found Son Of Svengoolie on METV, and almost jumped on my couch Tom-Cruise-style I was so excited. But then I watched and it wasn’t anything like the old Svengoolie show I remembered and I was SO disappointed. HOWEVER, I continue to watch because it makes me feel a connection with Chicago, which I miss so much since moving to Los Angeles many years ago, and I gotta say, Svengoolie’s son is starting to grow on me……a little. Maybe you could try to dig up some of those c-r-e-e-p-y movies your dad used to show?
Whet is Svengoolie email?
SOOOO excited that (Son of) Svengoolie is in Portland, OR!! I remember watching the show on Saturdays in Glen Ellyn, IL, and stayed up last Saturday night to watch “The Mummy’s Ghost” — and am watching it again right now with my 9 year old son.
One of my favorite memories of the 70′s was getting the 3D glasses (I thought we got them from White Hen Pantry or something?) and setting the TV’s red/blue setting so that there was a double image and then sitting down to watch “Creature from the Black Lagoon” in (sorta) 3D. It was almost as exciting as staying up all night to watch Geraldo Rivera open up Al Capone’s tomb
) Thanks to Sven for so many of my greatest memories of growing up in the 70′s Chicago suburbs!!
thanks to me-tv for bringing back svengoolie!!! when was the last time it was taped for viewing?
Thank God for Svengoolie! We old farts who grew up in NYC in the 50s and 60s had Zacherle as our horror movie host and Sven continues the tradition with gusto! Keep on truckin’.
Please Live Stream the show so I can watch it from the comfort of my laptop since you are not broadcast on Cox Cable here in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
Watching Svengoolie brings back fond memories of watching the late, late shows on WGN with my father-in-law.
I have lived in Florida for many years, and thoroughly enjoy the show, just as much, if not more than all those many years ago. Thanks for the memories!
Much better than elvira! svengoolie cracks me up! Please consider showing the 1972 movie “Gargoyles” Thats an old fave.
Where else could I enjoy the comedy/drama while eating “fun” food and actually feel good when it’s all over, instead of heartburn, disgust, and being “grossed out” by gory bloody visual effects?
In perspective, I guess the early horror flicks may have had the same impact on people as our most recent flicks (1980′s to the present) that focus on chain saws and sadistic mutilation. They are products of the time and culture creating them.
Sven gives me a viewing option to just have some fun and fantasy along with interesting historical movie revelations.
We get the this station via our NBC station (KCBD) here in Lubbock, TX. I really do enjoy all of the antics on this show! Thanks for putting on a great program on Saturday night! It comes on from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. I go to bed happy. The show and its crew make me laugh so much!
Years ago our ABC station had a similar program in the early 70′s. Your program in a lot better.
I am a definite fan. How wonderful!
Sherry Hagood
I watched the original svengoolie in Chicago in the 70′s ..then watched rich start out as Son of Svengoolie in 1979.. then watched him for 30 years.. I was flippin the channels the other night here in Las Vegas and I couldn’t believe my eyes.. I HAVE SVENGOOLIE IN LAS VEGAS…HAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN AND I CAN CHECK IT OFF MY BUCKET LIST!!!-TED
Hi:
It looks like I did not do my research on Creature from the Black Lagoon.
It lives on.
So tonight do I get to see B Movie Babes?
Svengoolie – You *TOTALLY* rock!!!!
…you’re an icon and very much appreciated and enjoyed!
…I hope that you do this for as long as *YOU* want to because you make a *LOT* of people *REALLY* happy!!
In a day when almost *EVERYTHING* on tv is *TOTAL* crap,
you manage to keep alive the true spirit of fun, entertainment
and *REAL* professionalism – everything that tv is *supposed* to be about….I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your show and everything that you do!! Yeah – I have to admit that Elvira is still a knockout, but you still carry the torch and for that I thank you sincerely!! Break a leg buddy!!
So great to be able to watch you now in NYC.
Greetings, Been an fan of Svengoolie since the 70′s! I was sooo very happy to find the Svengoolie show was resurrected. keep up the great work! Just a thought here..Maybe put some of the prior shows up on the web site. I would love to watch some of the old stuff.
Much love and rock on! B
What a wonderful surprise to find Svengoolie in Denver. Growing up in Chicago I never missed the original Sven on Screaming Yellow Theater. Svengoolie is uptight, he’s alright, he’s outta sight!
This movie sucks, I have watched you for years.
Ya know its a good show, when i dont miss cable…one of the better things i found since the idiot’s idiot box left. Love all the Universal horror shows of my childhood….KEEP IT UP SVEN!
Sven, I appreciate all the Stan Freberg bits you drop into the show.
Even as a little ghoul, I loved your show, Svengoolie (oh, and that ‘Rich’ guy, too)…I even wrote you a fan letter.
You sent me back a hand-written letter of thanks…and doodled a liil’ rubber-chicken in the corner. To say I was thrilled was an understatement, and that letter was one of my favorite possessions (sadly, lost to unfortunate circumstance).
But now, I can see you (and ‘the gang’) again…woot!
Awesome Channel!! Thank you Me-TV
Grew up with Sir Graves and Morgus and Ron Swede’s “Ghoul” in Detroit long ago, glad to be getting you now on ME TV in Des Moines Iowa. Svengoolie is the tops! Duck them chickens!
I never knew about svengoolie until we switched over to a couple different channels. Now I hate it when I miss it on Saturday’s! I am the only one in Danbury Iowa that watches it. Thanks for making my saturday nights so much fun!have a nice time.
I watched the show a few times now, and i have to say that i have not had this much fun sence they took the COOL GHOOL off the air here in Cincinnati . Really enjoy it keep em coming Svengoolie.
Been watching since th 80′s back in Chicago. I thought I’d lost you forever since moving away. So glad to find you on METV. SVEN YOU ROCK!
I just recently became a Sven fan when Me-TV started to broadcast in the Dallas TX market. At first I thought it was going be another stupid no-talent bum just earning a paycheck host doing a hack job on the classics. But being a huge monster fan. I had to at least give it a try. I was SO surprised Sven was warm, knowledgeable, and funny. He obviously has a love for his job and the films he hosts.
I am now a loyal Sven fan. Thank you Me-TV for breathing life into a dull market. and two thumbs up for Svengoolie..the king of horror host.
I’ve enjoyed Rich Koz since I was a middle school girl growing up in Chicago and then in Dolton, Illinois in the 80′s and early 90′s. He use to host the “Koz Zone” where he would play cartoons and I’d watch them as soon as I got home from school. Now on Saturday nights I can still watch him near Hershey, Pa as Svengoolie. After several antennas and amplifiers I am able to pick up ME TV all the way in Pennsylvania!! Hey Rich you rock buddy!! Keep those movies and jokes coming. I lmao when I watch you
Wow, My 11 yr old daughter just discovered you 2 months ago. She LOVES horror films. Now she totally LOVES your show. If im sleepy she gets my pillow out so i can sleep in the floor so she can watch your TOTALLY AWSOME show. I love your show too. We hope you stay on a long time. We are total fans now. Love you Sven. : )
I absolutly love your show. My dad was right. I am a total Sven fan. I love your shirts and those chickens too. Keep up the the horror films an funny stuff. I love you Svengoolie.
Sven,
We have AT&T Uverse. We no longer get Me-Tv in Lakemoor, IL. I have begged them to offer it in our area. I miss you! What else can I do to watch your shows?
sven is awsum i hope he stays the same for years
sven pleaze reply
We are THRILLED to be able to spend Saturday nights with YOU Sven/Rich!! I remember the Cool Ghoul from Cincinnati when I was growing up. It’s nice to be able to share you with my daughters. We love the movies, especially the Abbott and Costello ones. Wondered about one of them for Halloween? THANKS for still doing what you do!
I had never seen this show until it came on ME TV. I enjoy the movies and the humor AND the facts that Svengoolie tells about the characters and the movie.
I love you, Svengoolie!
We took a picture together, back around 1998, (you were at a haunted house gig around Halloween) but my ex-boyfriend kept it, doggoneit! I grew up watching you in Chicago and now I live in Florida and I get to see you on MeTV. Thank you God, because it means the world to me. Not to mention, you look as young as the first time I saw your show, over 30 years ago, good for you!
I even got my husband into you, and he did not know about you before…I hope your popularity just keeps perpetuating!!!
Holy revival Batman!
I remember Svengoolie when it was “Son of Svengoolie” on WGTBS 65, before everything went digital. I use to enjoy as a child Dr. Shock, Zacherely, even Stella the Maneater from Manyunk. Now I get to see Svengoolie on MeTV. Sevengoolie is an Icon from Chicago and stil keeps the Horror/Host/Comedy moniker still going after all these years. Way to go and keep up the awesome work. Nice to have you back.
Oops Sven pardon my typos, just hit by a rubber chicken. Ouch! Your the best!
I was unaware of Mr. Koz’s…er “Sven’s” antics until we here in Rochester, NY began to receive MeTV programming. (we did have “Chiller Theater”, a local production, back in the 1960′s, but that program has been long gone from the airwaves…)
I agree with previous comments RE: With all the negative information that bombards us these days, the schlock jokes and silly schitck, along with the classic (and some less than classic but fun) films are a welcome respite. Thanks, Svengoolie!
R.Donez,
Rochester, NY.
I have seen the commercials for you show for a long time but I didn’t get a full version of ME TV until last week I love your show, it’s so hilarious! I can’t believe I never heard about it before. Oh the wasted years! LOL
I used to watch Son of Svenghoolie back when it was on WFLD 32 in Chicago and thought it was one of the funniest shows then. Then FOX took over and messed things up. For those that would like to know a bit more about Sven, try looking for the book “Chicago TV Horror Movie Shows From Shock Theatre to Svengoolie” Chapter 12 is all about Sven.
My wife and are in our 70′s and some of the shows were new back than. We really get a kick out of your show since locating it a couple years back and look forward to Sat nite w/ svengoolie ! thanks and keep them coming.
From Houston Texas THANK YOU Svengoolie! We can’t wait for Saturday Night Fright, Si-FI , Humor and the interesting facts related to the programs and characters. You and your staff keep up the great work! PS. We’re Chicken to watch anything but you on Saturday night! Happy Halloween 2012!
Greetings from Southlake, TX…we love your show and look forward to it every Saturday night at 9pm on MeTV…Sven, you’re great…keep it going!
My husband and I are loyal fans. We live in Southeast Missouri (Poplar Bluff) and watch you on ME TV every Saturday night. We have a river cabin for weekends and we got dish network so we can watch you there too. You show the movies we grew up watching. Keep up the good work and remember to duck the chickens flying through Berwyn.
I THINK YOU ARE REAL COOL AND OUT OF SIGHT KEEP ON GHOOLING I ADMIRED ELVIRA HOW ABOUT YOU
please mention my name on your show as i am a real big fan
My Saturday nights are reserved on my sofa from 10pm to Midnight watching Svengoolie.I make sure I have a big bowl of popcorn and a tall glass of soda to wash it down.Between Svengoolie, the Three Stooges, and Doctor Demento,I can survive anything!!!!! Aaahhhh,
heaven……..
Saw happy to have come across this show the one time I decide to change the channel. Awesome! Reminds me of my childhood Creature Features. I see someone else from SF mentioned that above, too. Love it.
Please tell me how I can find out name of movies being shown. Dying to know name of this bathing beauty/blonde Elvis wannabe/giant caveman movie.
Love your show!!! Get well soon!!! It’s Awesome to have
Svengoolie on Saturday Nights. I love the classics. Take your time
and get well. If you don’t, I’ll come down from Wisconsin and throw
a chicken at you. Take care.
Thank you for making Saturday night the best night of TV again! Any chance you can air some of the old Hammer Films with Vincent Price and/or Christopher Lee? Whatever you do, keep up the good work-we in the Northeast love ya!
I look for you on Saturdaynight. Thank you.
Welcome to Boston / MeTV. Great show! Loved “Sssssss!”
My favorite movies are:
The Raven.
The Cat and the Canary
And I am having trouble finding Frankenstein 1970 made in 1958.
Doug
I watch your show, and enjoy the movies. I remember the “House of Wax” as being especially scary. Please consider this classic Horror Film. Thanks!
Just heard that you had a “heart event!.” We are praying for you, my Friend!
Sending prayers to you and your family, Rich. Stay strong!
Hi, Svengoolie! Two of my favorite movies are “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” and “I Saw What You Did.” My favorite bit you’ve ever done is the song “Zombie #5″. Absolutely perfect when I need a good laugh! I’m introducing my 8-year old niece Emma to your show–she loves the jokes and Kerwyn too!
Hey Sven!
Like your Show!
Was wondering if you could show Sci-Fi and horror movies like One Million ,BC (thats with Rachel Welch), Planet of the Apes (1968 version), and Alien.
The Older, classic monster and horror movies are fine. When are you going to show the original Frankenstien film?
Keep on spooken!
I’ve loved classic horror movies since I was a kid. We used to have a “Creature Double Feature” on Saturday afternoons, here in Boston, Mass. Well, that’s long gone, but I’m still fond of the creepy crawly classics — the cheezier the better. Love the flicks, and the entertaining behind the scenes commentary Svengoolie. I’m watching you here in Boston on MeTV, right after the original Batman, Lost In Space, & Star Trek (MeTV ROCKS!).
Thanks so much, and keep up the great work!
I grew up watching Sir Graves Ghastly and the Ghoul hosts long ago in Ohio from their Detroit, Michigan TV station horror hosted shows, later I watched hostess Elvira. I missed them and was very happy to see Svengoolie. He is wonderful and I love the shows he hosts. I look forward to watching him every Saturday. I look forward to watching him for years to come. May he cause future generations of horror show hosts to follow in his footsteps.
Well, I can’t say much for this movie’s understanding of evolution, but still cool.
That Panther Woman was hot.
I really like Kerwyn and his jokes…but I am only 9. Keep it clean Buster !
Love your show. I look forward to it every weekend.
Sven,
I catch your show every Saturday night on ME-TV Boston.
Its the highlight of my weekend these days.
Hope you are doing well.
Thanks for the classic movies!
-youngsta- Boston
Keep those rubber chickens flying indeed and thank you so much God also for Sven Goolie and the amazing Saturday nights he brings!
<3. I found out last year about Sven Goolie and have been a true fan ever since. We actually just had got Me-TV put on our cable and also, I was not even big with television but my mother had told me about Me-TV and then of course, Sven Goolie – making EVERY Saturday night even greater! Love and many, many blessings always Svennie!
Also, just the other day I bought an AWESOME Creature From The Black Lagoon figurine for my collection of course and it just makes me want a Sven Goolie & Kerwyn figurine set even greater now too! I also own a Grandpa Munster from The Munsters hit-show too! Great collection indeed! <3. ALSO, I own the awesome glow-in-the-dark Sven Goolie T-Shirt too. AWESOME!
Sven, hurry and get back! You are needed! And remember what Ned Scott said “Tell the World, tell this to everybody wherever they are, watch the skies, everywhere! Keep looking! Keep watching the skies!”
“Hello” Svengoolie, thank you for letting me know about your Web-Site and how to be able to order a T-Shirt. I’ve gone onto the different parts of your Site, to check things out. It is an Awsome Site. “BTW” I’ve only found your Svengoolie Show more recently. I found it by “Channel-Surfing” and I thought that I would check out the Program and I’m still watching. Keep up the great work and the wonderful Shows.
Peace, Blessings and Regards, Steve
Hey Sven,

We love this show! We found it on Me-TV playing on a Tulsa,Ok station. Forget going out now. We make popcorn and cookies and sit down to watch Batman, Lost in Space, and the original Satr Trek before Svengoolie! We have more fun watching these classic shows than with most of the new ones. Thank you for the great TV. Please don’t go anywhere and we’ll be there every Sat. night!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m overjoyed to have Svengoolie on MeTv in Milwaukee, WI! I’ve been a fan since my crazy teenage years! My 16 year old daughter love Svengoolie.

Nice to watch classic black/white horror movies.no computer generated effects.how about the original House of Wax with Vincent Price,Nosferatu.the name of the movie youwere looking for about the guy who dies at the end of the movie at the water fountain scene about zombie like society was The Omega Man with Charlton Heston. Thanks for the movies!!!!!!!!!!!!
A great show!! I am so glad I discovered it on ME-TV.
Used to love watching a similiar show—Lenny’s Inferno back in the 70′s and 80′s in Wisconsin. Sven is a CLASSIC Horror host whom I hope goes on forever. Keep up the good work–AND THE GREAT OLD HORROR MOVIES RULE!! BRAVO!!
I was pleased when Svengoolie showed “The Invisible Man” and “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde”! They are my favorite horror flicks! I look forward to his show every Saturday night. Way to go, Sven. You’re a big hit in Overland Park, KS!
Love Svengoolie and the old movies! This is like Saturday nights used to be for me as a kid–I’m old enough (yikes) to remember Vampira. So glad I now get MeTV and can enjoy Svengoolie.
It’s awesome to see the great Svengoolie once more!!!
I grew up in Chicagoland and spent many great nights watching the master host of vintage horror movies.
Thanks to ME TV for bringing us such culturally vital programming again.
I live in Portlandia now, and desperately miss many of the people, places and things of Chicagoland, even Ber#&%.
Thank you Svengoolie-you rock!!
Please run for U.S. Senate. Since Chicago is a place where dead people vote, I think you’d win!! CZ, formally from North ave and Harlem
Great show—keep those old Horror movies coming Sven!!
Does anyone know if Svengoolie is shown on any stations in Dallas TX? I just moved here from Pittsburgh and I miss the show so much!!!
Jim to jim, I dont know if he is in Dallas. Im just thankful that Sven is shown in the Seattle area. Not sure if Sven knows what its like to be on the other side of the screen and look forward to seeing his show! Maybe he does! He and his show are so much needed by us real Americans! Thanks Sven! Get back when you can. We miss you!
Me and my housemate LOVE watching the show Saturday nights on METV in San Francisco following Lost in Space and Star Trek. Such programming on a Retro-faithful channel like Metv is a wonderful, nostalgic experience! The Universal Classics never looked better. This is the sort of programming this Gen Xer didn’t have so good since the early 80′s! Keep up the good work.
Our other local channel KOFY used to show the Svengoolie shows with the obscure cult films around 1:00 a.m. so a double dose of Sven was ultra cool throughout 2012.
THANK YOU!
Well bless my gravestones! My hubby and I are thrilled to finally have a seriously foolish night of horror with Sven! Keep up the Ghoul work — we are hooked!
We’re on KTXD-47.4- in Dallas, and are most of the major cable and satellite systems.
I haven’t enjoyed tv as much before finding , “THE GREAT SVENGOOLIE ” on METV. Here in SOUTH CAROLINA thanks for bringing me back to the halcyon days of youth.
Thanks to METV for bringing SVENGOOLIE to Houston,TX great show
You make a “Sinister Cinema” fan’s Saturday nights every week. Thanks from yet another Portlandia-based viewer!
svengoolie , it’s about time that we the older crowd, 40′s – & up get to share with our children , what we as kids all remember back in the 70′s / early 80′s , funny how television has changed ! back then t.v. signed off after 2-3am until programming resumes. i have been for years in contact with detroit stations in reguards to creating a late horror show with a host, but to no prevail ! glad ME/T.V. has the courage to re-venture this lost era in televison, finally and not but last i applaud them and svengoolie on there capitalazition of this golden oppurtunity , looks like svengoolie or ME/T.V. had enough sense to see this as i , i could only wish all the others had listened to me ? who know’s i may have been the nxt late horror host ? , anyways congrats to ME/T.V. for bringing back the lost era of television… thanx , james
I have been watching Svengoolie since the 80′s and have loved every episode. Originally from the Chicago area, I moved to Texas and couldn’t believe that they were showing him in the South. Thank you for continuing to air a great show so that new generations can enjoy a great program!!!!!
new fan here in Alabama! I love the older scary movies and am happy i get to see them! Thanks!
Hello Sven-I’m 64 years old and grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan. We had several classic TV horror movie formats that started in 50’s and continued thru the 70’s.“Shock Theatre” was one that I remember. It was broadcast every Saturday night, just like your show on ME TV. Your old horror movies are sometimes so bad, that they are great! Of course, the best part of the Svengoolie Show is when you are hammered with rubber chickens! I also like the Soupy Sales style segment where the “HAND” talks to you with the door partially open. Keep up the great work Sven-Hope you can show “The Day the Earth Stood Still” sometime in the future. It’s a favorite of mine. Thanks, Denny
Howdy, Sven/Rich! I’m a big,new fan from San Antonio, Texas. I started watching you on Saturday nights on MeTV which is a new station here. I’m only 6 years younger than you, and your show has brought back so many fond memories of my childhood. As a kid growing up during that time, I watched every new and old, color or black & white scary movie possible in my room, which was decorated wall to wall with black-light posters & plastic models of all the iconic monsters and villains from the movies and magazines. Well, your show has every ingredient that, for me, sparks this wonderful nostalgia I have for that period as a boy, who actually grew up in Houston. The old movies you show are great, of course; your clean, corny humor is refreshing…but ,also, your set design and the colors used are absolutely perfect. So, now, every Saturday night @ 9pm central, I flick on the two new black-lights I bought for the show, fire up the 55″ Vizio and just escape back into the kid I was back in his old room 40 years ago. Saturday nights used to be the one night a week that I’d take my wife out dancing, go out with the boys or whatever, but not anymore! I now only go out on Friday nights. Totally having fun watching. I wish you good health and recovery and long live Sven/Rich. Thank you!
Hi Sven!
It is so cool to watch you again on Me-TV.
I grew up in Westmont (BER-WYN), and still have a signed picture of original Sven from when mom took us to meet him in the ’70′s. I moved up here to Hayward, WI almost 20 yrs ago, and have missed so many things from Chicago.
But… Thanks to Me-TV, I have been able to enjoy my favorite Chicken-dodging movie host Svengoolie once again. Keep up your great work, and hope you’re feeling better!
Fangs-a-lot!!
Larry Karesh
Rich, my family and I are always wishing you the best and grateful for your show. We’re always recommending your program to others and we’ll be posting blogs about how wonderful your show is on our website 623Life.com so that we can get even more viewers. Stay well, America needs you!
Sven, I used to watch you all the time thirty years ago. I live in Peoria, and I want you back. You must play in Peoria! Please tell Me-TV to come to Peoria!
Thanks for keeping the Horror Host tradition alive and well. I’m calling from Philly, where I grew up with the late great Dr. Shock and “Scream-In”, and later with the syndicated often imitated “The Ghoul”. Great to see that Saturday Night’s still allright for biting. Yeahhhh!!!!!!
found your show one night,it brings back many late night memories.I,m 53 and grew up with Big Chuck and Lil John in Cleveland ohio but they retired several years ago and late nights were never the same.Glad to see late night horror show hosts continuing the late night tradition.you have a new viewer
Having been a child growing up in Detroit in the 60′s, I could not wait for sat. afternoon to see Sir Graves, and Creature Feature. I am glad to see Sevn on Sat nights and to be able to share his old movies with the nephew.
I discovered Me-TV today, March 23, 2013, and I am watching Svengoolie for the first time tonight. Great sense of humor and Rich Koz makes the movie enjoyable to watch. I like the tid-bits of information. I have just become a fan.
Greetings from Tijuana Mexico, Svengoolie has got loyal fans across the border too, loved last night´s movie: The Deadly Mantis!
Svengoolie has always been the CAPITAL show here in Tallahassee,Florida !!!!
I grew up watching Sven, he’s one of the few shows from my childhood that’s still on the air and doing better than ever. Svengoolie truly is the King of Horror!
As a fellow Chicagoan I can honestly say Sven is a big part of Chicago history.
What can be said that hasn’t?
Loved it, loving it, indoctrinating our young on it!
Svengoolie, the show that wouldn’t die!
And rightly so!
Im glad to hear that your doing much better after your illness. I didn`t know that you The King of the W.W.E. I have watched him for years. I know ya have a lot to do so get well and return to T.V. ( one day at a time ) Be well and God Bless. later
This morning at church, after our minister delivered a sermon with references to RUBBER CHICKENS, I could not help “coming out” as a Fan Of Sven … and finding more in the process, along with queries of where to find his show. So from the pulpit of Arlington Street Church in Boston, Massachusetts, bless you Sven and keep up the ghoulish work!
I love svengoolie, classic horror movies are a really fun thing on Saturday night. plus they don’t cost anything. dallas loves it.
No one does horror shows better than svengoolie!!! I love it when you share trivia about the movie. Glad to hear your feeling better. I hope you do a appearance in twin cities in the future
Marie here in Slidell Louisiana. Originally from Berwyn, Ill I really enjoy spending my Saturday nights with the Svengoolie show. I’ve been a big big fan since childhood. I’m 48 now and still enjoy watching Sven he makes me feel like I’m home. Thanks for all your years of entertainment. <3
rich: I hope you are feeling better and will be back to work soon . perhaps you are all ready I hope so. In a desert of mostly awful t v shows yours is a cool oasis. peace richie B
Can you do a special movie for me? The first Svengoolie episode I’ve ever watched was Frankenstein meets the wolf man. That was the beginning to me watching your awesome show.
Sven, We live in Houston Texas…..so I’ve never had the “pleasure” of you hosting the Universal horror flix, until now!! Thanks Me-TV… uh um…anyway, you’ve made me and my 7 yr old laugh and I just really enjoy someone other than my lovely and wonderful, Bob Osborne narrate my classic films. You definitely add some humor and well, a bit of glorious stupidity to the shows that make me laugh and you have won over our hearts, Thanks Sven! ps. No offense ! LOL
Hi Sven, Kath from NJ just letting you know I watch you every Saturday night!
Television could use more programs like yours. I miss the days when fewer channels seemed to produce a better quality of show and less riff raff to weed through.
We’re so thrilled to have Svengoolie on the tube every Saturday night here in the Washington DC area. Thanks so much for continuing the classic tradition of horror show hosting. It’s a real treat to share this with our kid. We love you, Svengoolie and crew!
I saw you as Son of Svengoolie for a short time in the 80.s on Saturday after noon on local channel 64.(I think) And had the issue of Fangoria magazine about your show. I always loved your sense of humor and you still keep me laughing 30 years later!
Just discovered your show last night — Sven, where have you been all my life? Or I guess, where have I been since I just discovered you….anyway, I am now a die-hard fan! Grew up watching Commander USA (and Lefty) and Elvira, and Chiller Theatre and of course MST….and forgot how much I enjoy classic horror films and corny jokes combined. I had heard of you and am so glad I discovered you on MeTV. You’re awesome, and I look forward to watching you dodge chickens every week!!!!!!
My wife, sister-in-law & grandson put aside every Saturday night for your show. And now, since I’ve mentioned you at our monthly meetings, many others have expressed the same passion. I guess there really is still an audience ready for this genre with skits in-between, just as when I was younger.

Svengoolie is such a funny and entertaining show it has fans even south of the border!
RIch – Svengoolie has become a tradition for me and my fiance. We are 53 and 60 y/o respectively and are like two little kids watching your show. Svengoolie and good wine – what a great combo. You are a fabulous host, funny and smart. And I too will not switch cable companies because of you. Thank you for bringing back these old movies with your own style. Bring back memories – You make this NYC girl laugh!!!
